Privacy Policy
Last set in type: 15 July 2026
This policy explains how The Motley Post ("we", "us", "the journal"), publisher of the website qunelaro.info, handles personal information. We are based at Level 2, 25 Grenfell Street, Adelaide SA 5000, Australia, and we handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
1. What we collect
We collect only the information you choose to give us and a small amount of technical information generated by your visit:
- Correspondence details. When you send a letter, place a classified suggestion or write to our email addresses, we receive your name, email address and the content of your message.
- Subscription details. When you subscribe to the Friday Round-Up, we receive your email address.
- Technical records. Our hosting provider records standard server logs — IP address, browser type, pages requested and timestamps — which we use only for security and to keep the site functioning.
We do not collect sensitive information, we do not build advertising profiles, and we have no accounts, logins or tracking pixels on this site.
2. How we use it
- To answer your letters and correspondence;
- To send the weekly round-up email you asked for;
- To consider games suggested through the classifieds form;
- To publish selected letters on the Letters page, only with your explicit consent;
- To keep the website secure and operational.
3. Disclosure
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We disclose it only to the service providers who make the journal run — our email delivery service and our website host — and only to the extent needed to perform those services. Some of these providers may store data outside Australia; where they do, we take reasonable steps to ensure they handle it consistently with the APPs. We will disclose information to authorities where the law requires it.
4. Retention
| Record | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Letters and correspondence | 24 months after the exchange closes |
| Subscription email addresses | Until you unsubscribe, then removed within 30 days |
| Classified game suggestions | 12 months |
| Server logs | 90 days |
5. Your rights
You may ask us at any time to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Write to [email protected] with the subject line "Privacy request" and we will respond within 30 days. If you believe we have mishandled your information, you may complain to us first, and to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au) if our answer does not satisfy you.
6. Cookies
Our modest use of cookies is described in full in the Cookie Notice.
7. Children
The journal is written for a general adult readership. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 15; if you believe a child has written to us, contact the desk and we will delete the record.
8. Changes
When this policy changes, the new version is published on this page with a fresh "last set in type" date. Material changes are announced in the Friday Round-Up.
